plane tickets

I finally purchased my plane ticket.
After I did some shopping around and deliberating upon which day I was actually going to come home, I decided to fly to Jackson Mississippi on Thursday, July 7th and spend a few days with Justin.
This way, my plane ticket cost me $130. I couldn't find a ticket any cheaper than 300 to arkansas, and mom was going to force me to ride in a car with her to Mississippi to visit Justin anyway, and that's just too much traveling for me. So, I save money, and I don't have to sit in the car forever.
^_^

I'm just dreading the long car ride back to Arkansas on Sunday.

Also, I just spent the past hour of my life chatting on the phone with my boss in Arkansas. She was "getting me up to speed" with all the partners and what's going on inside Starbucks.
We have a new district manager.
My least favorite partner transfered (he was so unreliable).
Another of my least favorite partners transfered from our store to the other to be a shift. She said "i know you don't believe me, but I'm not lieing". LOL.
One of our shifts is stepping down and only going to work one day a week.
We have a new ASM.
We have a transfered partner who has "the personality of a fly", and is not allowed to work on drive thru.... ?
We have a transfered partner who will be leaving in a few weeks.
And my future roommate has her big coffee master exhibit thingy next week. I bet she's nervous. ^_^
I'm pretty sure I knew all of these things, but I went ahead and let LorEnn tell me, because she likes to talk, and I want her to think I like her. She's really cool.

I'm coming home soon! ^_^

Freddy Kruger's Basement

I totally went there yesterday. Just to see what it was really like.
Ok, so here's what you do...
You walk into one of the shops on canal street, and walk to the back, pretending to admire the purses, and then one of the asians will be like "gucci coach prada"... except it's kind of hard to understand them because they have a hard time pronouncing the words... and they're really quiet and secretive about it. You say "gucci" or whatev, and they walk you to the very back, press a button, and the wall opens. It's like a secret door! AMAZING....
Then you walk up this staircase, and the door shuts behind you and you walk and walk until you get to this room that's full of the really good knockoffs that are illegal to sell because they look exactly like the real thing.
And that's it, ladies and gentlemen. That is Freddy Kruger's basement....
Oh, they sell the purses to you, and put them in black trash bags, so that the police don't see you carrying them...

I was tempted to buy a new 8 gig ipod nano from a guy on the street for 50 bucks... They were stolen, but I mean, it's not like I can help that?

But I don't need one, because my old 4 gig is still in good condition, and my conscience got the best of me.

Swing Vote

This makes me think of Dad

Kayla Oudthone

My friend Kayla just so happens to be the National Kickboxing Champion... and ranked fourth in the world, or it could be fifth, I dont' really remember. lol.
Anyway, she has to fight people who are older than her and bigger than her because people in her division are intimidated by her.. they're afraid to fight her. And it's not like she's a a scary girl, she's just really good. Her family is from Thailand, and her father owns the kickboxing studio in Jacksonville where she learned to fight, as did all of her siblings and such.

What I'm getting at is... She has a fight here in Manhattan on August 8. She just found out today, and I'm stoked. I'm totally going to go see her fight and stay in the hotel with her and her family that weekend, since I have to move out august 7. I've always wanted to see her fight, so this is really really cool!!! ^_^

Let freedom ring

"let the whole world sing?
today is the day of reckoning?
let the weak be strong...
let the right be wrong?
blah blah blah blah
INDEPENDENCE DAY"

this song has been stuck in my head ALL DAY LONG
and yet I can't figure out what the actual words are
and I'm too lazy to look up the lyrics online...
it doesn't matter that much to me.

ALSO
Spiderman scared the CRAP out of me today.
he was hiding in a phone booth
and jumped out in front of us and threw his spidey web....

creepy

right?
isn't it creepier knowing that a 15 year old boy came up with this in his head, drew it out, and turned it into an animated music video?
yeah.... creepy...

you should see his art work...
we had an art exhibition last night for him... it was a lot of fun, and really funny to see all the french kids get upset that their hands were stamped so that they couldn't have a "drink". lol. They may do it at home, but not in the city...

Anyway, the Willowz played at this shindig, and it was fun. But I'm rather creeped out that we had an art exhibition for him. I think if I were a parent and I noticed the things that my child was drawing were so disturbed, I would send him to counseling, not frame it all and invite all my friends to come see.

Also, he has a comic titled "crazy town" and a "ME" magazine just did a special on him and all his friends. I have a few copies....
I can't imagine if my life had been this way.... Nope. I was a normal teenager, who didn't draw creepy things, didn't have my name in a magazine, let alone a picture, or the whole thing about ME. lol.

I'm glad, though.

TarryTown

Last night, I went to Tarrytown and spent the night with my friend Lauren. She's from Heber, and she's staying with her Aunt and Uncle (editor of the NYTimes)... they're in Cape Cod for the week. Anyway, I had a blast. There's grass and trees, everything's green and pretty, and I felt more "at home" there. It was a very nice change, such a nice change that I'm going to go back tomorrow and stay the night again. HA!
It was rather nice to hang out with someone from Arkansas and laugh really hard about EVERYTHING again... People here just aren't as humerous as people back home... seriously.

Prison

For those of you who've never been to prison....
Prison Mike is here to "scare you straight"

30 minutes I'll never get back.

So... here's the deal...
I was staying with my friend Jennifer for like a week, and then I went over to her apartment today to return the keys and get the rest of my stuff......
ok... her apartment is above a dentist office, and the only apartment in that part of the building....
when you walk into the front, theres a door, small hallway with 3 mailboxes, another door, then stairs up to the office and then further up is the apartment.

picture this... the very front door is usually locked, i'm saying usually, not always, and it's the kind of lock that you unlock from the outside, and then walk inside, and re lock it with your key, you must have a key to unlock it from either side.... the middle door is ALWAYS locked, but not the same kind of lock.

When I walked in, the front door was unlocked, and I shimmyed up the stairs packed up my things, wrote a note, and left the key on Jenn's bed. This probably took me about 10 minutes max.

Since the front door had been unlocked when I got there, I didn't imagine that it would be locked when I was leaving, but to my surprise, I was WRONG.

So, I spent 30 minutes of my life TRAPPED in an extremely small hallway between two glass doors. Excuse me, LOCKED glass doors, and no one was home.

I felt like a zoo animal, as the people on the street walked by and stared in at me like I was doing something, but all I was doing was sitting on the floor talking on the phone. Oh well, eventually someone came home and let me out.

Phew.

I don't want to do that again!!!

Also, my mother asked me what I learned from the situation, and I can honestly say, there is NOTHING you can learn from that sort of situation. Thank you

Cyber Stalkers

are so crazy... they stalk your blog in hopes of finding something that will upset them, and when they do, they get upset.... Isn't that what they were hunting for?

It's so hard being classy... i can't help but insult people on the internet and blow up their phones with harrassing text messages.... wait, I'm not the one who is doing that, am I?

oh well, I fixed my blog so that it can only be read by users that I choose. ^_^

Movie

was too long...

but, I stood in line beside this "flamboyant" man, and we talked about how ugly Sarah Jessica Parker is... It was funny. He lives across the street from her, and he was like "i have to see her ugly face every day". HA
Any other person would be excited to see her, and he acted like it was more of a hassal.... but then again, didn't he pay 12 dollars to sit in a movie theater for 2 1/2 hours watching her face just like the rest of us... hmm....

Funny

Today, I was sent somewhere to pick up a package.
The man wouldn't let me pick it up because my name wasn't on the receipt.
"You could be just someone off the street picking it up to steal it!"
So, I called Partizan, and my surpervisor called, told the man I could pick it up, and the man let me pick it up.

Ok, rewind. I could still be someone off the street.
How in the world did that prove that I was who I said I was?
All I had to do was call someone and have them call and tell the man to let me pick up the package.
That's all it took.
Well, dang, I could have called my dad and had him do it! Ha.
Wow, if this really were as such a serious matter as he made it seem, he would have needed to see some form of identification....

TRANSFORMERS II

Filming started Monday. They're in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
I'm wondering to myself how far away that is....
If I have any free time coming up, I just might catch a train to go over there and peep. Sarah would be SO UPSET if I got to meet Shai Lebough. HA.
Seriously, I don't see what she sees in him.

BUT, I do see what she sees in Chase Crawford.
Apparently, He was in Dallas this past weekend, and Brett met him.(he went in the restaurant where Brett works...)

I bet you're disappointed you missed that, solarpowered.

Teleport

JUMPER

I waited FOREVER to see this movie, and finally watched it this past weekend. It was just as sweet as I thought it would be. I WISH I could teleport. If I could, I would save a LOT of money and live at home, and just teleport myself to NYC on Thursdays and Fridays to do my internship. That would be SWEET.

CRASH

So, I had a chat with Steve from Dell last night.
Apparently my hard drive is on it's "last leg" and will crash soon...
So, what am I doing? Frantically burning all my music and photos to CDS so that I will have them when this does happen. I'm NOT going to have the same thing happen that did last summer.
The good news is. When I'm finished, Dell is going to issue me a new hard drive... FOR FREE

My Secret

Ok.. so I've shared this with... no one.

Want to hear fresh audio? Underground stuff that no one knows about?
Such as... the new Weezer CD that everyone's dieing to get their hands on, but it won't be released til the end of June?
How about movies that are in theaters right now?

Well, my secret is.. www.strikegently.com

I'm only going to share this once, and in a few days it'll be buried so deep in my blog, no one will ever notice it.
Happy hunting. You didn't hear it from me.

Growing up

sucks

Brand New

Riding around on the subways, I've gotten back into listening to songs I haven't heard in awhile. Once upon a time this was my favorite band. I can't believe I've forgotten how awesome they really are.

virus, trojan, spyware, malware

Geek Squad called. My computer is finally fixed. They've only had it since.. Sunday?
That's about 6 days. Not bad. It only cost me $215 to get rid of all the bugs. Oh well... I'll just have to work a lot. At least it didn't crash again.
I want to get an apple anyway. I think one day I will, and I'll reset my computer to factory settings, so it will be basically brand new again, and sell it. Yeah, that sounds nice.

So, today, after work, I'm gonna go home and watch my man Jack. I haven't seen him in about three weeks, since I'm never in front of the tube at 8 p.m. on Thursday nights. Time to catch the re-runs on nbc.com.

Word on the street is, nanny was chatting it up on yahoo games with a writer of Lost. Seriously?  And she didn't even bother to ask him what they had in store for us next. Silly nanny.

Bad News

  • A car carrying several people from my church had a wreck in Florida on it's way for vacation. It was a terrible accident. I'm not good with details.
  • I'm looking for somewhere else to live because the girl I'm staying with has decided that her apartment is too small for two people.
  • One of my very best friend's mom died last night, and I can't go to the funeral because it'll cost me nearly 1000 dollars for a round trip back to NYC.
  • Sarah broke her ankle the day before she started UAMS. (Monday)
  • Joe broke his hand two days ago.

blackberrys

I've broken my phone a total of two times in the week and half I've had it, and both times I was here.  Let's see.. The first time, I dropped this baby in a puddle of water and it didn't work for a day and a half.
The second time is the fun one. I dropped it in H & M yesterday (for those of you who don't know what H & M is, it's an awesome clothing store with really cute things for low prices. ) where I had just bought this really cute dress for 12 dollars. Anyway, I could text on the phone and everything, the only thing wrong with it was I couldn't call out, and when I received calls, the person on the other end could hear me, but I couldn't hear them.
All day, I tried everything to fix this baby, and nothing was working, and I was fed up. I couldn't be here without a phone to call my mom, because she worries and she would have the police out looking for me if I didn't call her, and I didn't want to buy a new phone, so I resorted to plan B.
What is plan B, you ask?
Well, I'll tell you.
I threw my phone as hard as I could against the wall two times in a row.
Guess what! My phone is as good as new. And no new scratches. Bahahahahaha!

(I wouldn't recommend trying plan B)

Film

I just spent an hour at this store picking up some film for Partizan.
My supervisor talked to them before I came, but apparently there is a lack of communication there...

If you're in a hurry, don't stop here

Moving on

I went to a show by myself last night. It was down the road from my house. Just because I don't know anyone around here, doesn't mean I'm going to sit in that little apartment by myself. No sir.
It was pretty sweet. They're my favorite band right now, so when I noticed on a sign yesterday that they were playing at this place called "blender" I had to go.
CINEMATIC SUNRISE. Go see them. They put on a good show. But, you probably won't like them, Nanny.

I start my job at Starbucks this weekend... and I'm at Partizan as we speak, although we're not really speaking at all. I'm just typing in my blog, and you, the reader, will read it sometime between 5 minutes from now and the end of time. That's a pretty big time span.

I think I'll go see Prince Caspian this weekend. I've heard all good things about it.

Big City

I'm in New York. Been here for almost 5 days.. 81 to go.

Yeah, I'm on the countdown.

This place is ridiculous. Busy streets, loud people.. RUDE people. I've never met so many rude people in my life. Seriously. My job's ok, though.

I've noticed this, though. No one up here says the name of their business when they answer the phone. All they ever say is "Hello". I have to call around to several different businesses for different reasons at work, and each time I'm wondering if I called the right number because they just say "hello." AND THEN, after you find out the information you want, they just hang up on you. How rude. No goodbye or anything. Let's see... Yesterday I had to look up a bunch of used furniture stores for the director Michel Gondry (he's done films such as... The science of sleep, Be kind Rewind, and music videos, commercials, comics, etc.) anyways, I was calling around to find out if anyone had used kitchen/ dining room chairs. One man said "yeah, i think we've got a set, but I don't know if you'll like them" and then hung up. HA

BUT, I did do some fun things this past weekend. Katie and I went to the Met. We spent pretty much forever in there, at least 5 hours, and I'm pretty sure we may have seen half of the place. Maybe. And it is NOT set up the way the map says it is. Do not be fooled. It's easy to get lost in that place.

Lady Liberty was neat. We had fun on that island because there are trees and grass. And I most enjoyed ellis island. It's pretty neat. I didn't know that the immigrants had to go to an island to get a lot of tests run before they were allowed into the states.

I really like Central Park. It's comforting. I guess I'm here for the summer. I'm ready for Lauren to get here. She'll be here in 12 days. We'll be pretty much inseprable this summer.
