Big City

I'm in New York. Been here for almost 5 days.. 81 to go.

Yeah, I'm on the countdown.

This place is ridiculous. Busy streets, loud people.. RUDE people. I've never met so many rude people in my life. Seriously. My job's ok, though.

I've noticed this, though. No one up here says the name of their business when they answer the phone. All they ever say is "Hello". I have to call around to several different businesses for different reasons at work, and each time I'm wondering if I called the right number because they just say "hello." AND THEN, after you find out the information you want, they just hang up on you. How rude. No goodbye or anything. Let's see... Yesterday I had to look up a bunch of used furniture stores for the director Michel Gondry (he's done films such as... The science of sleep, Be kind Rewind, and music videos, commercials, comics, etc.) anyways, I was calling around to find out if anyone had used kitchen/ dining room chairs. One man said "yeah, i think we've got a set, but I don't know if you'll like them" and then hung up. HA

BUT, I did do some fun things this past weekend. Katie and I went to the Met. We spent pretty much forever in there, at least 5 hours, and I'm pretty sure we may have seen half of the place. Maybe. And it is NOT set up the way the map says it is. Do not be fooled. It's easy to get lost in that place.

Lady Liberty was neat. We had fun on that island because there are trees and grass. And I most enjoyed ellis island. It's pretty neat. I didn't know that the immigrants had to go to an island to get a lot of tests run before they were allowed into the states.

I really like Central Park. It's comforting. I guess I'm here for the summer. I'm ready for Lauren to get here. She'll be here in 12 days. We'll be pretty much inseprable this summer.
