It's pretty much like being in Hell. lol

CRASH

So, I had a chat with Steve from Dell last night.
Apparently my hard drive is on it's "last leg" and will crash soon...
So, what am I doing? Frantically burning all my music and photos to CDS so that I will have them when this does happen. I'm NOT going to have the same thing happen that did last summer.
The good news is. When I'm finished, Dell is going to issue me a new hard drive... FOR FREE

Thankful

I don't know anyone in this city,
but Shout out to the awesome girl who so willingly opened her home to me.
She's done such a great job of making me feel at home and welcome in her apartment.
I've never met anyone who treats company so much like a family member,
so loving, so kind.
She's terrific.

Twilight

I can't put this book down.
The movie comes out this december. Have you seen the trailor?
I'll post later.

My Secret

Ok.. so I've shared this with... no one.

Want to hear fresh audio? Underground stuff that no one knows about?
Such as... the new Weezer CD that everyone's dieing to get their hands on, but it won't be released til the end of June?
How about movies that are in theaters right now?

Well, my secret is.. www.strikegently.com

I'm only going to share this once, and in a few days it'll be buried so deep in my blog, no one will ever notice it.
Happy hunting. You didn't hear it from me.

Growing up

sucks

Brand New

Riding around on the subways, I've gotten back into listening to songs I haven't heard in awhile. Once upon a time this was my favorite band. I can't believe I've forgotten how awesome they really are.

virus, trojan, spyware, malware

Geek Squad called. My computer is finally fixed. They've only had it since.. Sunday?
That's about 6 days. Not bad. It only cost me $215 to get rid of all the bugs. Oh well... I'll just have to work a lot. At least it didn't crash again.
I want to get an apple anyway. I think one day I will, and I'll reset my computer to factory settings, so it will be basically brand new again, and sell it. Yeah, that sounds nice.

So, today, after work, I'm gonna go home and watch my man Jack. I haven't seen him in about three weeks, since I'm never in front of the tube at 8 p.m. on Thursday nights. Time to catch the re-runs on nbc.com.

Word on the street is, nanny was chatting it up on yahoo games with a writer of Lost. Seriously?  And she didn't even bother to ask him what they had in store for us next. Silly nanny.

Bad News

  • A car carrying several people from my church had a wreck in Florida on it's way for vacation. It was a terrible accident. I'm not good with details.
  • I'm looking for somewhere else to live because the girl I'm staying with has decided that her apartment is too small for two people.
  • One of my very best friend's mom died last night, and I can't go to the funeral because it'll cost me nearly 1000 dollars for a round trip back to NYC.
  • Sarah broke her ankle the day before she started UAMS. (Monday)
  • Joe broke his hand two days ago.

blackberrys

I've broken my phone a total of two times in the week and half I've had it, and both times I was here.  Let's see.. The first time, I dropped this baby in a puddle of water and it didn't work for a day and a half.
The second time is the fun one. I dropped it in H & M yesterday (for those of you who don't know what H & M is, it's an awesome clothing store with really cute things for low prices. ) where I had just bought this really cute dress for 12 dollars. Anyway, I could text on the phone and everything, the only thing wrong with it was I couldn't call out, and when I received calls, the person on the other end could hear me, but I couldn't hear them.
All day, I tried everything to fix this baby, and nothing was working, and I was fed up. I couldn't be here without a phone to call my mom, because she worries and she would have the police out looking for me if I didn't call her, and I didn't want to buy a new phone, so I resorted to plan B.
What is plan B, you ask?
Well, I'll tell you.
I threw my phone as hard as I could against the wall two times in a row.
Guess what! My phone is as good as new. And no new scratches. Bahahahahaha!

(I wouldn't recommend trying plan B)

Film

I just spent an hour at this store picking up some film for Partizan.
My supervisor talked to them before I came, but apparently there is a lack of communication there...

If you're in a hurry, don't stop here

Moving on

I went to a show by myself last night. It was down the road from my house. Just because I don't know anyone around here, doesn't mean I'm going to sit in that little apartment by myself. No sir.
It was pretty sweet. They're my favorite band right now, so when I noticed on a sign yesterday that they were playing at this place called "blender" I had to go.
CINEMATIC SUNRISE. Go see them. They put on a good show. But, you probably won't like them, Nanny.

I start my job at Starbucks this weekend... and I'm at Partizan as we speak, although we're not really speaking at all. I'm just typing in my blog, and you, the reader, will read it sometime between 5 minutes from now and the end of time. That's a pretty big time span.

I think I'll go see Prince Caspian this weekend. I've heard all good things about it.

Big City

I'm in New York. Been here for almost 5 days.. 81 to go.

Yeah, I'm on the countdown.

This place is ridiculous. Busy streets, loud people.. RUDE people. I've never met so many rude people in my life. Seriously. My job's ok, though.

I've noticed this, though. No one up here says the name of their business when they answer the phone. All they ever say is "Hello". I have to call around to several different businesses for different reasons at work, and each time I'm wondering if I called the right number because they just say "hello." AND THEN, after you find out the information you want, they just hang up on you. How rude. No goodbye or anything. Let's see... Yesterday I had to look up a bunch of used furniture stores for the director Michel Gondry (he's done films such as... The science of sleep, Be kind Rewind, and music videos, commercials, comics, etc.) anyways, I was calling around to find out if anyone had used kitchen/ dining room chairs. One man said "yeah, i think we've got a set, but I don't know if you'll like them" and then hung up. HA

BUT, I did do some fun things this past weekend. Katie and I went to the Met. We spent pretty much forever in there, at least 5 hours, and I'm pretty sure we may have seen half of the place. Maybe. And it is NOT set up the way the map says it is. Do not be fooled. It's easy to get lost in that place.

Lady Liberty was neat. We had fun on that island because there are trees and grass. And I most enjoyed ellis island. It's pretty neat. I didn't know that the immigrants had to go to an island to get a lot of tests run before they were allowed into the states.

I really like Central Park. It's comforting. I guess I'm here for the summer. I'm ready for Lauren to get here. She'll be here in 12 days. We'll be pretty much inseprable this summer.
